Pupillabs Pupil Invisible Eye tracker
Pupil Invisible is an eyetracking system, which in contrast to competing systems is hardly recognizable as such. It is the first eye tracker that truly looks and feels like a pair of glasses.
PupilLabs asked me to design a housing that safely accommodates the electronic components while remaining as slim as possible. In addition, the shape had to be designed to fit ergonomically and visually to various head and face physiognomies. The front camera is magnetically connected to the glasses and can be easily detached if required. In order to make the glasses appear as sleek as possible, the different housing parts are joined together by invisible snap-fit connections and do not require screws.
My role in this project included the entire development of the hardware (excluding electronic components). From initial design ideation to the development of a mounting concept for the integration of the electrical components to the development of the housing parts for mass production. In the process, countless iterations and prototypes were created and tested.
